Ryan Martin

Executive Assistant

Ryan Martin is an associate who works with Tim Veazey to help farm families in the creation of financial and succession strategies. Ryan enjoys facilitating goal driven conversations and believes his years of farming experience brings a unique perspective to the planning process.

Growing up, Ryan worked on his family’s dairy and crop farm in Volant, PA with his father, uncles and brothers. In high school he started his own show pig business and earned the FFA State Star Farmer award. While earning his degree in Agribusiness Management at Penn State, he interned at Growmark Inc and spent a summer working sheep, cattle and crop farms in NSW, Australia. After graduation he worked as a crop insurance adjuster for Hudson Insurance.

In 2016 Ryan moved to NY to live with his wife Danielle and started working in the grain industry. Most recently he worked with The DeLong Company where he coordinated the expansion of their assets; growing the export program to four times the original size while coordinating the valuation and acquisition of the largest competitor, doubling the size of the storage assets. Ryan also finalized the financial projections and construction plans for the largest grain bin construction in New York State that will hold 1.1 million bushels, all while earning his Masters in Finance.

Although it was not a requirement in any of his previous roles, Ryan had a desire to help farmers in a more direct and impactful way. He often found himself engaged in bigger picture conversations, leaning into his natural curiosity to know what their plans were for the future and encouraging them to define a pathway towards their goals. It became clear to him and those around him that he should step into the full-time role of a trusted advisor.

Ryan joined the Lincoln Financial Group on The Resource Group of Rochester team. He plans to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and work jointly with farm clients under the mentorship of Timothy Veazey, the lead financial advisor.

When Ryan is not developing his skills to become a financial advisor, he can be found enjoying the outdoors with his wife Danielle and his son Brooks. He also enjoys fishing and hunting near his home near Geneva, NY.

Look for Ryan at the next Ag Society, FFA or other industry meeting and be sure to introduce yourself!
